PLAI
Project Description
Project Description
This project involved designing and developing a website for PLAI (Liège Support Center for Inclusive Education), a service of the City of Liège that helps schools support students with specific educational needs.
The goal was to create a clear, reassuring, and accessible platform allowing teachers, school administrators, and parents to easily access information and resources provided by PLAI. The website also had to include a private area for education professionals while remaining simple to use for users with varying levels of digital skills.

My approach
As this was a real client project, I first analyzed the client’s needs during meetings held in class. I then conducted research, created a moodboard, and produced several paper prototypes to define the user experience before moving on to Figma.
Once the designs were approved, I developed the website using WordPress, HTML, SCSS, JavaScript, and PHP, while continuously taking the client’s feedback into account throughout the project. My objective was to create an accessible, intuitive interface adapted to the different audiences targeted by PLAI.

My challenges
The main challenge was creating a design that truly met the client’s needs. Despite my research, I initially struggled to imagine the visual identity of the website and went through several design iterations before finding a direction that felt coherent and appropriate.
I also discovered the challenges of working on a real-world project. It was the first time I had developed a website for a client and had to balance their expectations with accessibility and user experience best practices. This project taught me to make more thoughtful design decisions, sometimes prioritizing clarity and usability over purely aesthetic choices.
